Renegade Hardware is one of the major record labels in the drum and bass music industry. Created in South London by CEO Clayton Hines & Mark Hill in 1995, the label was initially a subdivision of the original Trouble on Vinyl.

History

Since its first release in 1996, the label has established itself with some of the most influential & recognized talents within drum and bass. Many jungle and drum and bass artists have released material through the label. Many of these have made bad experience with the "street level" politics of the label towards artists (a case often reported is that of Konflict).

In 2003 Barcode Recordings was created as sister label to Renegade Hardware. Barcode's initial concept was to nurture new talent and establish up and coming artists but some would argue it has a heavier and darker sound than Renegade Hardware.

The Trouble On Vinyl Music Group went into liquidation in 2007, but Renegade Hardware has kept releasing some material.
